TRYING!!!!!
I figured, OK well after they cut my neck that's it. Well three days out and I really want to smoke. Throat is getting better and I want to light up but I won't!!!! IT's bad for me and my spine! HELP!!!!!! I want to do this cold turkey and just end this disgusting habit once and for all. The sad part is we've been friends a lot of years and they have always calmed me down. I know in the long run they're my enemy but boy can they calm me down when everything in my life is upside down which is not unusual in my home.
HELP!!!!! I need to stay strong and I'll help who I can do the same!!! Well it's day three and I haven't shot anyone!

Waiting at a light one night and a drunk driver slammed into the back of my car. She has changed my life. I'm left with two herninated disks at C4 and C5 and limp from the accident. My daughter fractured her arm. I was trying to finish my masters and I feel like she took my life from me. Docs say from this I have arthritis and DDD. It's not getting better and seems to be worse as time does by.

It may sound weird but I think this is a very good time to quit. Years ago, I tried and tried and couldn't do it for the life of me until I had my hysterectomy which forced me to stop smoking for a while. I took the opportunity to quit cold turkey as I recovered from my surgery..CRAZY
but it worked. I am so glad I got that elephant off my back 
Past history: L4-5 central disc herniation, left lateral HNP L5-S1, L4-5 recurrent post op herniation, L4-5 Grade II retrolisthesis,
Current history: Post laminectomy syndrome, scar tissue, permanent nerve damage, severe DDD, facet arthropathy, DJD, OA, chronic degenerative endplate changes
Back Surgeries: Microdiscectomy/ laminectomy,
2 level TLIF/Laminectomy w/ instrumentation
Meds: Methadone 30mg, Oxycodone 15mg, Dilaudid, Cymbalta, Zanaflex, motrin.

I also had a lumpectomy in Feb. of this year and I know the time has come. Thanks for your encouragement.
